Family traditions run deep, and during the holiday season they run even deeper. Miss Cayce's Christmas Store, a West Texas tradition since 1984, as grown and so have our families (customers). So when one of our favorite customers had a new home she worried that all her treasured memories and traditions would forever be stored away! But not with Show Me Decorating! New home, no problem! The new house with vaulted ceilings begged for a much taller tree! Because our homeowner loved the Christmas look she had been decorating with, we were able to transition that look onto the new tree.
This colorful Christmas tree theme highlights the homeowners vast collection of Christopher Radko ornaments and all their glorious splendor! Matt gold balls are the background base and help show off these collectible handblown glass ornaments created in Poland. The traditional red and green color story is punched up with a mixture of pattern and colors in the ribbons and accented with fun and whimsical hot pinks, purples, and royal blue balls. Large red poinsettias layered with gold glittered leaves are from the homeowners original tree. New projection and interest was added to the new taller tree with multi-colored sprays, curls, glittered branches and berries. Faux florals and sprays are a great investment because they can be used from year to year.
The gorgeous rock mantle was adorned with a new garland to coordinate with the Christmas tree! This created a festive holiday look on a big focal wall. The new garland is very fun and bright! This mantel is wide enough for the garland to safely lay across.
Show Me Decorating Tip: If you have a narrow mantel a C clamp can be used to hold the garland in place.
The taller Christmas tree is a great balance of size and proportion to the new home's vaulted ceiling. On a shopping trip to Miss Cayce's Christmas Store the homeowner spied a larger than life Jacqueline Kent Santa that she knew would be a great compliment to her Christmas tree. A gorgeous velvet tree skirt finished off their holiday look. On Christmas morning Santa’s bag can be filled to the brim with great surprises for everyone!
This family loves the outdoors, animals, hunting, fishing and hiking! The Ditz bear tree featuring a mama bear watching her baby bear climbing the woodsy tree is an unexpected surprise to welcome family and friends!
Show Me Decorating Tip: Highlight your families interest in your holiday decorating (favorite sports team tree, baking themed tree, travel themed tree)
In most homes we have found that the favorite hangout spot is the kitchen of course! The sitting area in this new kitchen was perfect for the "new" family Christmas tree. From the time the kids were small they have enjoyed a teddy-bear themed tree and decorating with all their favorite ornaments, bought and handmade. What a great tradition to continue and enjoy in the new home on a taller tree to fit the new room. The Show Me Decorating step by step decorating plan allows you to use and add to your existing decorations. Additional balls and floral sprays were needed but their favorite bears were still the focal point!
Show Me Decorating Tip: A fun mix of patterned ribbons pulls all the multicolors into a cohesive pleasing tree.
The Christmas tree theme and color story are carried onto the kitchen mantle garland. There is room for stockings to be hung from stocking holders so Santa can fill on Christmas morning. TV viewing is not hindered by the Christmas decorating, only enhanced.
Show Me Decorating Tip: When you are choosing "new" Christmas decorations always consider your family traditions and cherished ornaments. Trust us, your kids will notice!
