Show Me A Ho Ho Happy Christmas Doorway!
Santa and Mrs. Claus would feel right at home with this inviting whimsical entrance. The homeowner wanted to transition her entryway from her dressy sophisticated past decorations to a fun, happy, kid friendly entryway to welcome her new grandchildren!
A green pre-lit faux pine garland provides the sturdy foundation for the plentiful assortment of red, green, and gold shatterproof balls (the garland and balls were the base for the old dressy entranceway and repurposed for the new theme) and new whimsical ribbon, a big lit Santa, north pole signs, and stockings were all wired on after the garland was secured in place.
Show Me Decorating Tip: Attach garlands to brick by 1st inserting plastic anchors with screws, then use floral wire attached to screws to hold on garland. leave in screws for future installations.
The oversized “HOHO”, “North Pole” signs, Christmas stockings and light bulb ornaments are great focal points.
Show Me Decorating Tip: Using a variety of oversized focal points adds interest and shows up from the street! A theme can easily change out from dressy to whimsical just by changing focal points and ribbon.
The red and green harlequin print ribbon was added to the original solid red and mesh gold wired ribbons to coordinate with the new Santa theme.
Show Me Decorating Tip: Wired ribbon can be used from year to year and easily shapes out. Adding a ribbon changes theme or color story.
The snowman waves a welcome and draws your attention to the matching teardrops on the double doors, a better choice than traditional Christmas wreaths. The color white, pops against the red brick and add lots of curb appeal. Lit mesh packages finish off this fun display!
Show Me Decorating Tip: Don't forget the porch lanterns! Add a touch of greenery and matching ribbon to accent and coordinate.
This house has a side entrance and needed to coordinate with the front door. Everybody on Santa’s list in this family is represented with personalized names on each stocking used like ornaments on this garland flanking the side entrance. The same traditional color scheme is used with touches of glitter and sparkle. (The base garland, balls and ribbon from last years decorating were all reused) A matching round wreath with a Santa and his list, pull it all together!
Show Me Decorating Tip: Choosing a theme and color story simplifies your decorating strategy and narrows your choices. Selecting Faux garlands and shatterproof ball basic colors can easily be repurposed from year to year.
